A few years ago,

the local grass cutting tractor broke down

 and there wasn't a replacement,

so the grass

in the most extensive parkland areas

was allowed to grow.

Wild flowers appeared,

rarely seen butterflies,

such as meadow browns,

moved in,

and I even saw field voles

jumping around.

It didn't last.

People complained

about the grass not being cut,

the tractor was repaired,

and 'normality' was restored.
