Gardening in Winter

Soon the days will get longer

and the sun will shine

and we'll all emerge from our hibernation

and be out again digging,

or not digging,

encouraging growth

and sharing triumphs

and possibly failures

My garden is still water logged

from the almost constant rain

we've had over the past few weeks,

I did notice more signs of bulbs

coming up on my way down the garden,

some of my tulips

are now pushing through the compost

in my pots on the patio.

Signs of better days to come

I hope,

in every way

as well as the weather.
