Last weekend we were visited by a single working mother with a 6 year old daughter.
During lockdown she was one of the 80 % of parents who didn't send her child back to school, preferring to use babysitters, and online help from teachers.
In between times she has taken on full responsability for her child's school education, noticing that she does it well ( better than the teachers?), noticing that her daughter reacts well to it. She has continued to give her daughter school lessons every day all through the European summer holidays.
I admire this lady a lot, but I ask myself how long can she keep this up for. Further , her daughter is an only child, so every waking moment of the child is fixed on an adult.
