From time immemorial,

people used to sit by the fire to tell stories,

tell each other about distant lands,

about interesting heroes,

unusual events,

about the spirits of ancestors.

These meetings tightened ties

and made people together

In this time

we can still sit around the fire

using social distance

and listen to our favourite writers

tell us stories over the crackling fire

Campfire stories

were often made during childhood holidays

now many libraries around the word

are doing it to promote literacy.

I'll be doing campfire stories for the kids next weekend when we camp out along the trout stream down the road from our house.
Campfires are a briliant place to cook , eat and socialise

.
