'remember to breathe', was often said to me  which although it made me laugh I thought was true. I read a book once about SAS snipers who would calm themselves before taking the shot by deep breathing so they were steady on the trigger. I think remembering to take deep breaths is good for calming the mind, slowing heart rate and overall focus. Whatever the physioligical workings of it I find it does work to help reduce anxiety when we 'remember to breathe.'
