Water

In Scotland,

the water quality is excellent,

and a test is taken somewhere

every two minutes on average.

Our water & sewerage bills are included

in our council tax bills,

based on your band rating,

and ranges from £ 298-£896 pa,

working out at an average cost per household

0f £372 per household.

Our water & sewerage are government owned, we're extremely happy with it up here.

Since the 2008 financial crisis,

the economic inequalities of America have largely been laid bare for the world to see, revealed by the collapse of the façade that was home ownership. This has been exacerbated by the fallout from COVID-19 which has proven the fragility of the US social security system which has seen even rather wealthy families turn to food banks and charities.

The sad truth of the American dream is that there is practically no security net bar basic welfare payments, which makes the battered and bruised UK system look like a socialist paradise. The lack of income created by this crisis is bound to plunge millions more into water poverty, which puts the wealthiest nation on earth to shame. The fact that BAME communities are the most vulnerable to this change represents the racial divide in America that cuts like a knife through people’s quality of life, an issue that has come to greater public attention in recent weeks.

COVID-19 may force the IS to face many of its social and economic demons, or it may leave behind a more broken and polarised country. If the former them water inequality will have to be seriously addressed and tackled in order to provide the most vulnerable with dignity and security; if the latter, then America will seriously have to question its self image on top of a mountain of other problems, transforming the nation and world order forever.

America has been contaminated by unfettered capitalism laden with steroids in the form of massive tax cuts for the Wall street corporates thanks to the most corrupt administration and a totally worthless senate who are absolutely insouciant to the crumbling infrastructure, massive income inequality, broken healthcare, homelessness and climate crisis. It's horrifying and grotesque that people are being deprived of clean hygienic water and sanitation in the US. It's an insult to compare the situation to that of the developing countries - they are not in the luxury as that of US; they have to deal with thousands of problems with severe restrictions. What US lacks is a government who really works for all and not just the few.
