The bad thing about government

The very bad thing about this is that the government won't be able to do anything going forward as people just won't listen due to the government's own response to lockdown.

A lot of those who had faith in the government lost it when they so staunchly backed Cummings, they set a very bad precedent there as if, in future, there is another wave (which there will be, but it will be disguised as 'local spikes' and people elsewhere will be told to 'Just get on with your business....') and the government says somewhere has to lockdown people just won't listen, they'll say "Why should we? You didn't." This has been going on for some time now.

People have no faith or confidence in the government and that's a very bad thing, especially with what we're dealing with now.

The easing of lots of things at once also takes away the ability to monitor what may have led to a rise in infections (if there is one), you can't say which thing that was eased led to it, it just causes confusion and you can't implement small changes to mitigate things as you don't know what to actually change.

Also - test and trace (there's no 'track') is just a tool to make people feel safe, the government say they'll lockdown areas etc. But they aren't sharing data with areas, so no area knows how many cases they have etc. This is very bad, you could be in the midst of a very bad level of infection and wouldn't even know it.

All this seems bad if you think about it from a health point of view, when you think of it from (as i imagine the government are) a herd immunity point of view - it's perfect. They don't give a shit about lives lost, they just want to spread the numbers out so it doesn't look so bad. They'll also find a way of manipulating the death figures, they've done it with everything else.

Throughout this pandemic it hasn't felt like the government has been working for us, it's felt like they've actively been working against us.
