The corona virus is raising so many questions
about our values,
systems and structures.
Child poverty was a major issue
screaming to be addressed prior to the virus.
The virus has forced us to reconsider
the value of a whole range of workers
previously dismissed as low skilled.
There is a real need to consider
the effectiveness of the government's preference
for contracting private companies.
Will we listen and learn as we endeavour to get back to normal?
I have a tiny glimmer of hope that Covid has forced many of us to re-evaluate what's important,
I don't remember Matt Hancock
asking hedge fund managers
and the hard-faced men
who have done well out of Brexit
to dig deep or pay more taxes
in order to help us through this crisis.
Our Government cares so much about
vulnerable children
that they’ve cut Safeguarding budgets.
This Government has not got a clue about vulnerable kids
and Cummings was heinous
using a safeguarding loophole
for his jolly to Durham.
As for their government world beating records,
ineptitude, callousness, lack of empathy
and their sheer sense of entitlement is so galling.
