democracy, freedom of speech, travel,

We’re told we’re free but then also pumped full of fear. The “hope” we’re given is largely false hope, and the freedom we’re given is to go the casino, splash the cash, and if we can get in with the one per cent, win big.

If our political-economics and society was a person, under review by a psychiatrist they’d say the UK had a severe personality disorder; acute anxiety; addiction problems; a tendency of looking back to glorious past which never really existed; are about to enter a depression and; are controlled by psychopathic urges.

Personally speaking, I’m relatively hopeful because this beast needs killing not feeding, and going cold turkey for a while is opening people’s eyes.

Corona just illustrates, what had been visible to the naked eye for much longer. The "rich" west measure the worth of a human life (or rest life) for money for some time now.
From a purely what we could do standpoint, some million of people could be still alive, if we would put all resource into keeping them alive. And the number would probably be a 1000 times higher, if we would broaden the picture to the world. We intentionally let (other) people die for financial gain, for some time now. Only depressing thing is, that a lot of people seem to notice this only now.

The epidemic has created levels of paranoia unseen since the fall of the Soviet Block. It is a gift to authoritarians who see a unique opportunity to throw away all that is familiar to us: democracy, freedom of speech, travel, and association. No country is immune from the creeping erosion and the quiet acquiescence of the populations, because we are living in fear most of the time now.

Foolishly, we stand around waiting for government action to address our distress, but all we get are empty words, and demands that we risk our lives going back to work, so that a few wealthy individuals can stay that way.
