No this is not a recession caused by Coronavirus.

It has been brewing for a long time.

Successive governments around the world failed to learn the lessons of the Global Financial Crisis and it looks as if we are being given a second opportunity to bury our heads in the sand.

When money flows out of the financial system into offshore havens and the financial system ceases to work for 99% of the population trouble is always just around the corner.

Populism and Brexit are symptoms of the structural problem with 21st Century capitalism not the cause.

Both were hijacked by people wanting to perpetuate the current structures rather than replace them and as a consequence the wrong fox was shot.

People know what the problem is but it was easy for their opponents to use their baggage to obscure their message.
