All languages have borrowed words in,

often from the dominant culture at the time,

large amounts of English is descended from Latin,

French, Saxon-German,

and scanidinavian languages from the vikings.

Lots of languages are adapting english words into them now as it is the dominant world language,

but give it 100 years or so English will probably have a load of new words in it coming from other world langauages.

In the US there are already a load of spanish words coming into common usage even amongst english speakers due to the large hispanic community.

Languages that are used have to evolve,

it is only dead languages that stay the same.
