Plums

Plums

This is a great busy time of the Season.

Autumn is bountiful

A pleasure in the Orchard

collecting the Apples of the Year.

Additionally there are many many Plums.

Loads and loads of Plums

We make them in Cakes and Pies

Delicious enough to sit in A corner

and stick our thumbs into them.

But with so many we make a lovely chutney/jam

from this many plums.

I stick  some into a bucket of  some water

and then pit them

Pitting them

mean that  I slowly go through them individually.

Each one by hand

and then take out the plum seed/kernel

which is quite large.

I put the plum stones into a pot so as to compost later on the day

the rest of the juicy plums I put into a pot into it is full

Then when the pot of plums is filled I had  some water

Then it is stewed  simmered slowly into it is transformed into a  Plum chutney/jam.

Once it is colder then the next day we spoon them into an assortment of Jars.

Now we have many Jars of Plums

that we can Store for delight

to enjoy through the Winter

A delight that we could put

on our pancakes for breakfast

Or even to put it into our Porridge

for a marvellous Winter breakfast.
