Oratorium (Salezjanie) -

a work carried out by the Salesians;

place of study, fun, prayer and work for young people.

The first oratory was founded by Saint. Jana Bosko on Valdocco in Turin.

There, Father Bosko gathered difficult and poor young people from the streets of Turin - he gave them employment, shelter, the opportunity to learn and gain a profession and spiritual growth.

According to Don Bosco, the atmosphere of the oratory should be based on four elements:

home - young people should feel at ease in the oratorio, make friends, feel that they are surrounded by care and warmth

school - oratory gives the opportunity to expand knowledge and receive selfless help in learning; allows you to develop your skills

the church - young people must be able to develop their spirituality and friendship; for this purpose, it gathers in biblical classes or prayer wheels

playground - the oratory is also a place of fun and active recreation; playground is a place important for the youth, in which they can forget about everyday worries and indulge in games and games
