When you walk up and down the stairs of National Galllery there is a truly heavenly painting that carries your thoughts to a Biblical perspection.

This was painted many years ago and not on a canvas but on wood.

This would have been shown in an Italian church.

It would have been enjoyed to many a churchgoer as it was shown on the Altar.

Possibly behind the priest or to his side on an alterpiece as part of a predella panel.
